The Transportation District Supply Specialist in this position reports to District Equipment Shop in Greenbrier County. The selected applicant performs at the full-performance level in a district or division storeroom. Steps, processes, and methods are related to the job duties. This position is required to recognize the existence of and differences among a few easily recognizable situations. Alternative choices may be available throughout an assignment. Analysis of subject matter is conducted, and decisions are made based on those results. Interrelationships are identified using analysis and decision-making skills. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications

**Preference may be given to Candidates with these qualifications**

TRAINING/EDUCATION:

High school diploma or the equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a clerical capacity in connection with storeroom or warehouse operations, such as a stock clerk, inventory work, or handling materials; and/or experience in business operations such as bookkeeping, accounting, timekeeping, and purchasing.

Substitution: Successful completion of coursework from a regionally accredited college or university, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience through an established formula.

Promotional Only: Five (5) years as an hourly transportation worker with the Division of Highways.
