  • Knowledge of carrier operations, freight routing, transportation planning, and shipment execution.
  • Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and transportation-related software platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost management and process improvement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, customers, carriers, brokers, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment where customer needs, transportation capacity, and production schedules may change quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications/Professional Experiences

  • Experience supporting transportation operations in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Import/export compliance experience.
  • Experience coordinating international freight shipments.
  • Knowledge of customs documentation and international transportation requirements.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Experience with freight invoice auditing, reconciliation, and payment processes.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle.
  • Experience filing and managing freight claims.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives focused on transportation efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Military logistics or transportation experience.

Success in this role means effectively managing transportation activities that support customer service, operational performance, and financial objectives. The Transportation Coordinator demonstrates sound decision-making when balancing transportation costs, service requirements, and carrier capabilities while proactively addressing challenges and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

This individual builds strong partnerships across departments and with external transportation providers, ensuring that products move safely, efficiently, and on time throughout the supply chain. The ability to support domestic and international transportation operations, navigate changing priorities, and maintain a strong customer-focused mindset will be essential to long-term success.
