Job Description

Under the direction of the Terminal Manager, this part-time hourly position will manage a school transportation software suite, ensuring daily routing updates for both in-district and out-of-district schools from our Londonderry Terminal. The role involves efficiently and cost-effectively managing day-to-day transportation needs, including stop locations, time spent on the bus, and route planning. Additionally, the position requires effective communication with all levels of operations, school districts, parents, and providing daily updates to operations leads as well as weekly updates to customers.

Specific Job Duties

· Develop, implement, and maintain routing with computerized software

· Transfer geographical data, and prepare maps, programs, and related graphical media.

· Develop optimization strategies using various GPS programs designed to ensure our customers are serviced in a highly effective and efficient manner.

· Provide routing process improvement recommendations to your Supervisor/Manager: Recommend specific changes to help increase productivity and efficiency; Create, edit, correct, and delete routes as well Observe and track route timing, as well as provide customer route updates and billing information to finance department.

· Communicate with schools, parents, drivers, and aides; Answer telephone inquiries and communicate on two-way radio providing instruction to drivers.

· Assist with scheduling when needed to ensure all vehicles are staffed for the day .

· Read and follow established School District contracts.

· Report concerns, violations, or issues to the Terminal Manager.

· Keep records and submit reports as required or requested.

· Participate in any company required training, or as assigned by the manager.

· Coordinate SPED routes with respective students. Enter the student in the system to assign route number and driver wile notifying the parent of this.

· Ensure compliance of all state-required paperwork and documentation for SPED students and ensure the General Manager is aware and reviews all documentation supplied by the school

· Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Familiarity with routing software a plus.
