
The City of New Westminster requires a motivated and dynamic co-op student to help achieve the City’s transportation goals, with a focus on making it safer, more comfortable and more convenient for people of all ages and abilities to walk, ride a bike and take transit in New Westminster.This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about planning and design for all modes of transportation. Your duties will include contributing to transportation planning and engineering projects, data collection and analysis (including the ability to synthesize data collected into understandable presentation formats for decision-makers), research and conceptual design of basic transportation infrastructure, public and stakeholder engagement (including compiling, reviewing and assigning public requests and preparing written correspondence), performing site inspections, and preparing and maintaining a range of data sets, records, reports, memos, technical analyses, and documentation related to the work.This co-op term will start on approximately May 1, 2026 and end on December 31, 2026.
Requirements:
The successful candidate may participate in public consultation processes and will have the flexibility to work in the evenings and on weekends as required.
