The LD&T Coordinator is responsible for executing the Traffic Center schedule while ensuring adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and company regulatory standards. This role delivers world‑class service through effective dispatch planning, communication, and compliance oversight. The position works closely with OTR Drivers, Sales, HQ, Field Safety, and Local Management.

Responsibilities

Dispatch & Operational Planning

  • Answer incoming calls in a professional and pleasant manner.
  • Tender and assign loads based on driver bids, seniority, and operational needs; award OTR Assignment Dispatch Boards.
  • Maintain the Dispatch Tracker (timeliness, on‑time delivery, PM scheduling, run changes, etc.).
  • Verify Drivers’ DOT Hours of Service (HOS) daily to ensure compliant run assignments.
  • Adjust delivery sequences in the Dispatch Planning System to support service needs.
  • Resolve dispatch issues related to order changes, ship-date delays, driver availability, or equipment readiness.
  • Coordinate Vend deliveries with customers.

Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Oversight

  • Participate in weekly regional Safety meetings on DOT and FMCSA regulatory topics.
  • Conduct yearly compliance audits for federal, state, and company transportation requirements.
  • Perform periodic reporting on HOS violations, exemptions, Pre‑Trip/Post‑Trip inspections, UDEs (Unidentified Driving Events), and log edits/verification.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant Driver Qualification (DQ) files.
  • Coordinate random, post‑accident, reasonable‑suspicion, and LOA drug and alcohol testing.
  • Partner with outside vendors to ensure equipment readiness, annual DOT inspections, and maintenance compliance.
  • Retain required driver and transportation records in accordance with Frito‑Lay guidelines.

Reporting, KPIs & Administration

  • Perform general administrative support (reports, copying, filing, faxing, scanning, etc.).
  • Prepare and communicate KPI reporting related to speeding, MPG, idle time, Pre‑Trip/Post‑Trip inspections, and policy violations.
  • Evaluate driver logs and process driver payroll accurately.
  • Make value‑added decisions to support world‑class service for Sales and internal partners.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $39,500 - $63,100.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in the logistics industry required.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate DOT HOS regulations (8/70 rule, 11‑hour rule, 14‑hour rule) required.
  • Valid driver license required.
  • Microsoft Office Suite user lever required.
  • 2+ years leadership experience desired.
  • 2+ years Payroll desired.
  • SAP or similar desired.
