Job Shift: DaysThe Transportation and Program Assistant supports the daily operations of the program by providing administrative assistance to the Program Director and staff. This role also serves as a key resource for clients and their families, facilitating safe, timely, and efficient transportation to appointments, employment, and community-based activities while promoting a positive and supportive experience.

QualificationsESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transport clients and their families to and from their appointments, interviews and other local locations safely, ensuring a supportive and respectful environment.
  • Provide local transportation as assigned by program leadership.
  • Work irregular shifts, irregular days and be available when required to transport clients to assigned destinations.
  • Maintain a calendar that tracks and coordinates clients' travel needs to ensure they get to their assigned destination on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date travel logs.
  • Assist clients with getting in and out of the vehicle as well as with loading and unloading as necessary.
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties for program leadership and staff, including filing, typing, drafting, and preparing correspondence/memorandums, and compiling reports.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, programs and events related to clients and the program.
  • Manage, track, and complete various forms, spreadsheets, and other program documents, as necessary.
  • Maintains client and program confidentiality and ensures that all office and record security procedures are followed.
  • Maintains a positive, respectful demeanor in all contacts with staff, clients, and the public.
  • Works to build positive, productive relationships with other staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a responsible manner 
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications  and Google tools.
  • Proficiency in a second language spoken by the local refugee population is strongly preferred.

EDUCATION: Associate degree, preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years of experience relevant to the position and working with vulnerable populations.

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion. Ability to work outside of the 9-5 schedule, as needed.

LICENSES: Valid Driver’s License with clear record.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations with such frequency as the business need dictates.

EXCEPTIONS TO THESE CRITERIA MUST BE APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT HEAD.
