Job Description

Transport Supervisor - Permanent

Regency Park, SA

  • Lead and support a team of drivers to deliver safe, reliable service
  • Take ownership of daily transport planning, scheduling and allocation
  • Bring your logistics experience to a role with real people leadership

At Kennards Hire, getting the right equipment to the right place at the right time takes teamwork, practical thinking and a strong commitment to safety.

We’re looking for a Transport Supervisor to join our Distribution Centre at Regency Park. Combining hands-on transport coordination with frontline leadership, you’ll help our drivers and branch teams deliver a service our customers can count on.

About the role

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you’ll supervise approximately 6–8 drivers and manage daily deliveries, pickups and equipment transfers across your assigned transport area.

You’ll plan efficient runs, allocate work and respond to changes throughout the day, keeping safety, driver wellbeing and customer commitments at the centre of your decisions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, scheduling and allocating transport movements using EasyTRAK and Baseplan.
  • Coaching and supporting drivers through clear direction, regular check-ins and feedback.
  • Adjusting routes and workloads to manage urgent requests, delays and changing priorities.
  • Working closely with branches to confirm equipment readiness, communicate arrival times and resolve service issues.
  • Managing driver rosters, timesheets and coverage to maintain reliable transport capacity.
  • Monitoring fatigue, load restraint, pre-start checks, vehicle compliance and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
  • Coordinating vehicle maintenance needs and escalating equipment or fleet issues.
  • Reviewing transport performance and identifying ways to improve safety, efficiency and customer service.

About you

You bring experience in transport allocation, dispatch, logistics, scheduling, fleet coordination or a comparable operational leadership role. You’re organised, approachable and comfortable making practical decisions when plans change.

You’ll also bring:

  • Experience supervising, coaching and supporting frontline team members.
  • Strong planning skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A sound understanding of transport safety, fatigue management, load restraint and Chain of Responsibility.
  • Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with drivers, branch teams and customers.
  • Confidence using transport systems, Microsoft Office and operational data.
  • A current driver’s licence and working knowledge of equipment movements and transport operations.
  • A Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations or equivalent experience is desirable.
