We're looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our Clayton Distribution Centre, leading a team of Drivers and coordinating daily transport activity across the network.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role for someone who can balance people, planning and performance. You'll oversee the daily transport schedule, respond to changing priorities and support your Drivers to deliver a safe, reliable and exceptional service.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you'll:

  • Lead, coach and support a team of approximately 6–8 Drivers
  • Plan, schedule and allocate daily deliveries, pickups and transfers
  • Create and adjust transport runs to improve route efficiency and vehicle utilisation
  • Manage real-time changes including urgent requests, delays, missed pickups and disruptions
  • Work closely with branch teams to keep transport priorities and customer commitments on track
  • Prepare Driver rosters, timesheets and coverage plans
  • Ensure Drivers have the right safety, site and customer information before commencing work
  • Champion safe transport practices including fatigue management, load restraint and Chain of Responsibility
  • Support vehicle readiness, maintenance and pre-start compliance
  • Review transport performance and identify opportunities to improve service, utilisation and productivity
  • Build a connected, positive and high-performing Driver team.
  • The role has direct responsibility for day-to-day transport activity while maintaining customer commitments and Kennards Hire's safety and Chain of Responsibility requirements.

You'll bring:

  • Experience in transport allocation, dispatch, logistics, scheduling, fleet coordination or a similar operational leadership role
  • Experience supervising, coaching or supporting frontline team members
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment
  • A sound understanding of transport safety, fatigue management, load restraint, vehicle compliance and Chain of Responsibility
  • The ability to make practical decisions under pressure and respond quickly when plans change
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work across Drivers, branches and operational teams
  • Confidence using transport and business systems and operational data
  • A Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations or equivalent experience.
