We're looking for a proactive and organised Transport Supervisor to lead our transport operation, ensuring deliveries run smoothly, drivers are supported and customers receive a first-class experience from start to finish.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transport or logistics experience who enjoys leading people, solving problems and delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced environment.
As Transport Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the branch transport function, ensuring vehicles, drivers and delivery schedules are operating safely, efficiently and in line with company and legal requirements.
Working closely with the Branch Manager, Yard Supervisor and wider branch team, you'll coordinate deliveries, manage driver availability and ensure customers are kept informed throughout their delivery journey. You'll play a key role in maintaining high standards of customer service while ensuring compliance with transport legislation, vehicle maintenance requirements and health and safety procedures.
You'll also be responsible for monitoring driver performance, supporting and developing your team, resolving transport-related issues and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service levels.
No two days are the same, making this role ideal for someone who thrives on organisation, communication and finding solutions in a busy operational environment.
We're looking for a confident and approachable leader who can build strong relationships with both customers and colleagues. You'll be highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment.
You'll have experience supervising people, managing workloads and maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll regularly liaise with customers, drivers, suppliers and branch colleagues.
Previous experience within transport, logistics, distribution or a builders' merchant environment would be advantageous, along with a good understanding of transport legislation and fleet management requirements.
