YOUR ROLE

As a Transport Service Delivery Manager within our Ground & Rail team based at Orchard Hills NSW, you will lead the safe, compliant, efficient and cost-effective delivery of transport services for a key customer operation.

Reporting to the State Transport Manager and leading a small site-based team, you will work closely with our Contract Logistics operation, broader Ground & Rail team, customer and carrier partners to coordinate transport requirements, align capacity and priorities, resolve service issues, and deliver against safety, service, cost and operational KPIs.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of transport services, ensuring customer requirements, operational priorities and service expectations are understood and achieved
  • Coordinate freight planning, scheduling, dispatch and receiving requirements, aligning transport capacity with forecasts, orders and delivery priorities
  • Drive compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), transport legislation, customer requirements and CEVA safety standards, policies and procedures
  • Lead, coach and support the site-based team, setting clear expectations, monitoring performance and ensuring employees are appropriately trained and competent
  • Monitor safety, service, productivity and cost performance against agreed KPIs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Proactively resolve capacity constraints, delays and service issues, escalating matters where broader operational support is required
  • Coordinate subcontractor carriers and drivers in partnership with Ground & Rail and Procurement teams, addressing capacity, safety, compliance and performance requirements
  • Build strong relationships across the customer, Contract Logistics, Customer Service and wider Ground & Rail teams to support effective communication and service delivery

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Our ideal candidate has strong experience in transport operations, operational service delivery and people leadership, supported by a vocational or tertiary qualification in transport, logistics and supply chain or a related field. You will also have:

  • Sound applied knowledge of Australian transport regulations and Chain of Responsibility requirements
  • Good commercial capability, including an understanding of budgeting, cost management and operational performance
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing operational priorities
  • Effective communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills across customers, operational teams and service providers
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel; exposure to transport management systems and subcontractor carrier management will be advantageous

In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.

WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?

In addition to a challenging and rewarding work environment and competitive compensation, we are proud to offer a range of employee benefits designed to support your wellbeing, and help you thrive at work and in life.
