Job Description

You enjoy solving problems in a complex environment to deliver the best outcomes for millions of people.

Here's your chance to design and deliver efficient, customer-focused services that also enhance accessibility, sustainability and overall quality of living for more people than you've imagined.

In this role, you'll:

Join our Major Events team, where you will contribute to the planning and delivery of transport operations that support some of NSW’s most complex and high-impact events.

Your work will focus on developing practical, well-coordinated transport management plans that balance the needs of event patrons with the broader community. You will play a key role in ensuring events run safely and efficiently, while minimising disruption across the network.

Working across a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, you will help bring together stakeholders, data and operational planning to deliver strong outcomes on the ground.

You will:

- Develop and maintain transport management plans for major events, including bus scheduling, service adjustments and disruption management
- Coordinate with internal teams, transport operators and government agencies to support integrated event planning outcomes
- Apply planning, operational and network insights to support safe, efficient and customer-focused transport solutions
- Contribute to risk identification and support the implementation of processes that minimise operational and safety risks
- Support continuous improvement by contributing to policies, procedures and planning approaches
- Assist with the delivery of major events, including supporting operational teams and contributing to post-event improvements
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to support collaboration and effective planning outcomes
- Support governance and compliance requirements across planning and operational activities.

This is a permanent full time position located at our Transport Management Centre (TMC) in Eveleigh. Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to work outside of normal business hours, weekends and public holidays.

About you

Your expertise in transport or operational planning enables you to contribute to the delivery of well-coordinated and effective event outcomes. You are known for your ability to bring structure and organisation to complex tasks, ensuring plans are clear, accurate and fit for purpose.

Your strong track record in stakeholder coordination allows you to work effectively across multiple groups, balancing competing priorities and contributing to agreed outcomes. You build relationships with ease and communicate clearly to keep activities moving forward.

You are recognised for your analytical thinking and problem-solving capability, using information and insight to support planning decisions and respond to challenges as they arise. You are comfortable working in dynamic environments where priorities can shift and timelines are tight.

Your experience in transport, bus planning, scheduling or operational environments gives you a practical understanding of how the network operates. Combined with your project coordination skills, this enables you to support planning activities from development through to delivery.

You hold relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, and bring a proactive, reliable approach to your work. You are willing to work flexibly, including outside standard hours, to support major events and operational requirements.
