Monthly base salary rate: 4,392 EUR - 5,292 EUR

The Transport Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all transportation activities to ensure cost-efficient, compliant, and high-performing logistics operations. This role drives continuous improvement, manages carrier relationships, and ensures that transport performance meets both customer expectations and business targets.

Key Responsibilities
Performance & Cost Management
• Deliver year-over-year productivity improvements in transportation costs and efficiency.
• Monitor transport costs, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs), taking corrective actions where needed.
• Ensure best-in-class transport performance, including service levels, transit times, and cost competitiveness.
Transport Strategy & Carrier Management
• Define the optimal transport mix (mode, routing, and carrier selection) for each lane and customer.
• Select and manage freight forwarders to ensure alignment with business requirements and performance expectations.
• Conduct regular business reviews with contracted freight forwarders, addressing performance, cost, and improvement opportunities.
• Run periodic transport tenders (one per 2-3 years), take care of baseline creation, tender meeting and partner onboarding.
Team Leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop the logistics administration team, ensuring high levels of engagement, accountability, and performance.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
• Analyze existing logistics and transport processes to identify inefficiencies.
• Drive simplification, optimization, and standardization of processes to improve service quality and reduce costs.
• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational performance.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure full compliance with import and export regulations, customs requirements, and relevant legal frameworks.
• Maintain accurate documentation and oversee adherence to company and regulatory standards.
Key Qualifications & Skills
• Proven experience in transportation or logistics management.
• Experience with and training on Dangerous Goods regulations such as IATA and ADR and/or a customs degree (declarant) is a pre
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decision-making.
• Experience managing freight forwarders and carrier relationships.
• Solid understanding of international trade and compliance requirements.
• Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Results-driven mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multi-cultural environment.
• Fluent English language in writing and speaking. Other languages are an advantage.
