Transport Manager

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field.
  • 5-10 years of proven experience in a similar managerial position.
  • Demonstrated success in leading transport teams with measurable impact.
  • Strong background in fleet management, logistics, and operational planning.
  • Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transport department, providing strategic vision and operational oversight.
  • Develop and execute short- and medium-term route planning to optimize operations.
  • Prepare and manage transport budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Supervise and support all transport personnel, fostering a high-performing team.
  • Establish and maintain effective fleet management systems for optimal utilization.
  • Monitor and control transport-related expenses to align with financial objectives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of reports for management.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication.
  • Oversee collections and deliveries, ensuring client commitments are met.
  • Train drivers in defensive and fuel-efficient driving practices.
  • Evaluate and adjust routes periodically to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained, licensed, and inspected on schedule.
  • Manage vehicle breakdowns, fuel consumption, and tire usage effectively.
  • Address ad-hoc collection requests and route adjustments as needed.
  • Oversee the management of vehicle fines, ensuring compliance with regulations.
