DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Transport Lead in Madrid Spain

The Transport Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the reliable, compliant, andefficientmovement of products across the OUS Supply Chain. This roleis responsible forleading transportation operations, managinglogisticspartners, and driving continuous improvement to support service, quality, and financialobjectives The position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on patient care by ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, and in full across international markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and managedaytodaytransportation operations to ensuretimely,accurate, and compliant delivery of products across OUS markets.

  • Oversee relationships with externallogisticsand transportation service providers, including performance management and issue resolution.

  • Monitor transportation performance metrics (service level, cost, quality) and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and international trade and transport regulations.

  • Collaboratecrossfunctionallywith planning, warehousing, customer service, and quality teams to supportendtoendsupply chain execution.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives tooptimizetransportation costs, routes, and service levels.

  • Support risk management activities, including contingency planning and disruption management.

  • Contribute to projects and process improvements aligned with regional and global supply chain strategies.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, ora relatedfield (required).

  • Master’s degree or MBA (preferred).

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Several years of progressive experience in transportation,logistics, or supply chain operations, consistent with aleadlevelrole.

  • Proven experience managing transportation providers orthirdpartylogisticspartners.

  • Strong knowledge of international transportation, distribution, and compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, manage KPIs, and drive performance improvements.

  • Experience working incrossfunctional, matrixed environments.

Preferred:

  • Experience within a regulated industry such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare.

  • Familiarity with global or regional OUS supply chain operations.

  • Experience leading continuous improvement or cost optimization initiatives.

  • Knowledge of SAP or comparable enterpriselogisticssystems.

  • Prior experience supporting change or transformation initiatives.

  • Strongproblemsolving, organizational, and communication skills.

Other:

  • Languages: Fluency in Englishrequired; Spanish strongly preferred.

  • Travel: Up toapproximately 10–20%, primarily within Europe.

  • Certifications: Logistics or supply chain certifications (e.g., APICS, CILT)preferredbut notrequired

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€43,600.00 - €70,150.00
