Job Description

The JVS Transport Associate is responsible for executing daily receiving and shipping operations for Jewelry Verification Services. This role ensures the accurate, secure, and timely movement of items through the JVS workflow, including inbound receiving, verification, packaging, and outbound shipment. The Associate follows established procedures, maintains strict attention to detail, and escalates discrepancies in accordance with defined protocols to support operational efficiency and product integrity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Receiving & Verification (40%)

  • Perform dock receiving activities by transporting inbound packages from the warehouse to the JVS work area and scanning items into the system accurately and timely.
  • Open inbound packages and verify contents against accompanying documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify discrepancies, damaged packaging, or missing items and escalate issues following defined protocols.

Processing & Packaging (40%)

  • Individually package items according to JVS handling and security standards.
  • Apply appropriate labels and organize materials in accordance with inventory and tracking procedures.
  • Maintain strict adherence to handling protocols to ensure product integrity and chain of custody.

Shipping & Dispatch (15%)

  • Prepare processed items for outbound shipment in compliance with GIA procedures and client shipping requirements.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments, ensuring items are accurately packaged, labeled, and transferred to the warehouse for carrier pickup.
  • Meet daily shipping deadlines to support operational timelines and service level expectations.

Quality & Compliance (5%)

  • Follow established procedures to ensure accuracy, security, and audit readiness.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment.
  • Meet or exceed daily production targets for both quantity and quality.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

  • 1–3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, production-driven or structured environment preferred.

Critical Skills & Experience

  • Proven ability to meet or exceed production goals while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Experience working with processes requiring attention to detail and consistency.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately review documentation and handle small, high-value items.
  • Ability to meet daily production goals without compromising accuracy or quality.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including scanning systems and internal tracking tools.

Additional Requirements

  • Fully onsite due to the nature of the work.
  • Ability to work on a production schedule and meet daily expectations.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during scheduled shifts.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work is performed in a high-security, production-oriented environment with limited workspace.
  • Role involves repetitive tasks performed primarily while standing for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of computers and/or gemological tools.
  • Requires strong hand-eye coordination for precise handling of jewelry items.
  • Frequent grasping, pinching, and fine motor movements throughout the day.
  • Requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).

Pay: $22.00 an hour
