Job Description

Our
Children Youth & Families Team is looking to engage a Transport and Program
Support worker who will play an important role in providing safe, reliable and
culturally respectful transportation for children and families attending
services at GEGAC.

This role
will primarily support our Early Years team to create welcoming and positive
experiences for children and their families, ensuring they can access our Early
Years programs with ease.

They may
also provide transport and operational support across other divisions,
including Primary Health where required.

GEGAC is an Aboriginal
Community Controlled Organisation based in Bairnsdale Victoria. Consisting of
about 200 staff, GEGAC is a Not-for-Profit organisation that delivers holistic
services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders &
Disability and Early Childhood Education.

GEGAC advocates for the
self-determination of the Aboriginal community by prioritising services that
enhance social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, with culture at the heart
of everything we do.

Position Purpose

The
Transport and Program Support Worker provides safe, reliable and culturally
safe transport services to children, young people, families and community
members accessing GEGAC services and programs.

The role
primarily supports the Children, Youth and Families Division, including Early
Years programs, and may also provide transport and operational support across
other GEGAC divisions including Primary Health, where required.

The
position supports service accessibility and community participation through
safe transport practices, positive client engagement, and practical operational
support activities undertaken in accordance with organisational policies,
legislative requirements and program needs.

The role
works collaboratively with program staff to support safe and effective service
delivery while maintaining professional boundaries and working under direction.

Qualifications and Registrations
Requirement (Essential or Desirable).

·Valid Victorian driver’s licence with
appropriate endorsements for transporting passengers ESSENTIAL

·Current First Aid and CPR Certifications (or
willingness to obtain) ESSENTIAL

·Transport Victoria Accredited driver ESSENTIAL

·VicRoads driver history record ESSENTIAL

·A satisfactory Working with Children
Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL

·A person of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander
background DESIRABLE

·Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGAC
requirements ESSENTIAL
