Prioritizingprojectsbasedonfacilityperformance,outagehistory,numberofcustomersimpacted, etc
Evaluate Mining impacts and karst topography.
Evaluate blasting designs for potential transmission asset impacts
Support slip and soil erosion mitigation efforts
Lead and or support transmission tower foundation inspection and restorations
Presentingprojectstouppermanagementforconsideration,approvalandfunding
Individuals inthisposition willalsobeinvolved inpre-engineeringfieldreview ofthefacilities, identifying specific project workscope,interact with design engineers and field personnel responsible for project construction
Performingperiodicqualitycontrolfieldinspections
Supporting Tower Coating Program
Coordinatingandschedulingprojectmeetings withinternalandexternalsources
Investigatinglineoperations,causesandidentifyingremediestoeliminatefutureoperations
InterfacingwiththeNorthAmericanTransmissionForum(NATF),EPRI,andotherexternalentitiesasnecessary
Conductingtestsandinspectionsofproducts,services,orprocessestoevaluatequalityorperformance
Leadingdiscussionswithdepartmentsinsideandoutsideofthefacilityinidentifyingproject/processalternativesandsolutions
Developingandimplementingtechnicalprocess/projectimprovementsandefficiencieswithfieldpersonnelasnecessary
Attendingandparticipatingindepartmentalmeetingsandactivitiesasnecessary
ReviewingencroachmentswithinourTransmissionRights-ofWays
Maintainingasafeworkplaceforcoworkersandthecommunitybaseduponknowledgeofpotentialhazardsandindustryregulations/requirements
Mustpossesstheabilitytodeliverquality,accurateworkwithinestablished deadlines
TheabilitytomentorRotational Engineers andCo-Opsthatenterthedepartment
An employee hired at the Engineer IV level will be expected to perform all of the above responsibilities with more proficiency, and in a more independent manner.Further, the Engineer IV level employee will be assigned additional responsibilities related to those above.
Qualifications at the Engineer III level include:
AFundamentalsofEngineering(FE)Certificateispreferred
Mining experience preferred
Blasting experience preferred
Minimumof3(three)yearsofEngineeringexperienceisrequired.
Knowledgeoftheelectrictransmissionsystem,reliability standardsandregionaltransmissionorganizationsispreferred
KnowledgeofNESC,NERC,andRFstandardsandpolicies oftheelectricutilityindustryispreferred
Experience inanalyzingcomplexproblemsanddemonstratinggoodjudgmentindecisionmakingisessential
Demonstratedabilitytomanagediverseprojectsdealingwithschedule,costtrackingandbudget control
Demonstrated experience inaccomplishing responsibilitiesinatimelymanner through maximizing organizationalresources, financialdecisionmaking and employing logical engineering approaches
Stronginterpersonalskillsandtheabilitytoworkindependently,aswellascollaboratively,withmultiple departmentsinmultiplelocations
Effective written andverbalcommunication skills andability toperforminaprofessional manner includingtheability tomakeformaltechnical presentations to various management levels
Proficientcomputerskills(MicrosoftOffice)andAutoCADrequiredwithcoreunderstandingofapplicabletechnicalproductsand/orservices
Abilitytoworkinbothanofficeandfieldenvironment
