Job Description

of Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a Transmission Line Designer to develop and review transmission line design deliverables that support safe, reliable, and constructible electric infrastructure. This role owns design work from concept through construction support and record closeout, partnering closely with engineers, consultants, and construction teams to ensure compliance with ATC Engineering Guides and industry best practices.

Essential Responsibilities:

Whatyou’lldo

  • Develop and review transmission line design packages including plan and profile drawings, structure and assembly details, general arrangements, section views, and foundation plans.

  • Utilize PLS-CADD and CAD tools to produceaccurate, build-ready designs aligned with ATC standards.

  • Review internal and consultant-prepared designs to ensure quality, constructability, andstandardscompliance;identifyand resolve issues early.

  • Prepare and review construction documents, bills of materials (BOMs), and purchase requisitions to support field execution.

  • Provide construction support through design clarifications, updates, and field coordination as needed.

  • Manage as-builts, drawing updates, and record closeout activities to ensureaccurateasset documentation.

Whatyou’llbring

  • Associate’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Experience using CAD tools for engineering design.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineers, consultants, and contractors.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and commitment to quality.

The targeted base pay for this position is $37.16 to $43.35 per hour.* Base pay is one component of our comprehensive total rewards package which includes an annual incentive bonus, employer-sponsored pension plan, 401(k) match, HSA contribution, life & disability insurance, health care benefits, generous time off plans, flexible work arrangements, and much more

*The pay range is a general guideline. Employment offers are evaluated individually and consider qualifications, experience, academic achievements, internal equity, and business needs.
