Act as Construction Management representative in team settings during the planning and kickoff phases of Transmission Line and Transmission/Distribution Station projects. Provide Construction Management field support to those performing oversight duties associated with the safety, construction, and quality control of Transmission Line and Transmission/Distribution Station projects. Support the efforts of Construction Management to hire and coach Transmission Construction Representatives (TCR's), schedule TCR's to projects, and coordinate projects with Transmission Field Services.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for Construction Management as it pertains to Transmission Line and Transmission/Distribution Station construction.

  • Serve as a liaison between the Construction Management organization and other business groups (i.e. Transmission Field Services, Project Management, Transmission Engineering, etc.)

  • Represent Construction Management by attending project kick-off meetings, engineering scoping site meetings, project pre-bid meetings, project pre-construction meetings, Planning for Safety Expectation Meetings, and monthly project update meetings.

  • Assist Construction Management in identifying risks as it pertains to safety, construction work schedules, budgets, materials, contractor work force, etc., and suggest appropriate mitigation plans.

  • Mentor and provide leadership, as assigned, to less experienced Transmission Construction Representatives.

  • Deliver Construction Management presentations (including training) to various organizations as assigned.

  • Coordinate with Safety Advisor to recommend safe work practices and mitigation plans as requested

  • Coordinate with Environmental Department to proactively mitigate environmental issues as it pertains to construction management.

  • Coordinate and lead Construction Management efforts during major storm restoration and emergency failures as requested.

  • Participate in the development, review, and delivery of Construction Management’s Core Block Training.

  • Adept with technical tools and applications, mobile devices tablet/phone; including but not limited to: Microsoft suite (MS 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) GIS, PDF editor, Smartsheet, Scheduling Software.

What we’re looking for:

Transmission Construction Representative Principle – (SG8)

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management science with emphasis on project/construction management or bachelor’s degree in construction technology, Electrical or Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related technology field with a minimum of 8 years of project/construction management work experience

  • OR an associate degree in Construction Management Technology, Project Management, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or related technology field with 10 years’ work experience in the electric industry, or project/construction management/oversight

  • OR High School graduate or equivalent with 12 years related experience in electric industry or project management/oversight
