Job Description

Who are we?

At Vertiv, we’re on a mission to empower the people that will power the future. From a simple swipe to life-changing medicines, from push notifications to generative AI. We design, manufacture, and service the products and solutions that keep the world connected. With $6.9 billion in sales, a strong customer base and global reach spanning nearly 70 countries, we are uniquely positioned to deliver greater value to our customers and create new opportunities for our people.

Vertiv is seeking a detail-oriented Business Finance (FP&A) Transition SME to support the phased migration of select Business Finance (FP&A) activities from across the organization into the Cluj Hub. This role works closely with the Transition Manager to provide deep functional expertise during knowledge transfer, process documentation, and operational stabilization.

This is a Lift, Shift & Transform role. Beyond migrating processes as-is, the SME is expected to critically assess each process during transition, identify areas that are manual or inefficient, and propose simplification, automation, and harmonization solutions. The goal is not just to replicate — but to improve.

Upon completion of the transition initiative, this role will evolve into the Data Intelligence COE (DICOE) as a permanent member of the analytics and finance operations team — positioning this as a career development opportunity to shape the future of Data Intelligence COE capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Process Discovery & Current-State Mapping

• Map current-state Business Finance (FP&A) processes across Vertiv's global locations

• Conduct detailed process walkthroughs with source teams to capture inputs, outputs, systems, timelines, and dependencies

• Document as-is process flows, identify variations across regions, and flag complexity or risk areas

• Contribute to FTE sizing assessments by analyzing activity volumes, effort levels, and skill requirements for the receiving location

2. Lift, Shift & Transform

• Critically assess each migrated process to identify manual, repetitive, or inefficient steps

• Develop and present simplification proposals to reduce complexity and eliminate non-value-added activities

• Identify automation opportunities (e.g., RPA, scripting, system-native automation) and build business cases for implementation

• Propose harmonization solutions where regional process variations exist, driving toward a single standardized approach

• Document the target-state (to-be) process alongside the current-state, clearly articulating the transformation rationale

• Collaborate with IT to assess feasibility and prioritize automation initiatives

• Track and report on transformation outcomes: time saved, error reduction, and process efficiency gains

3. Knowledge Transfer Execution

• Participate actively in all three phases of the knowledge transfer model (Shadow → Duplicate → Pilot)

• Serve as the functional expert during knowledge transfer sessions, asking clarifying questions and validating completeness

• Build and maintain detailed process runbooks, step-by-step guides, and reference materials for each scope area

• Identify knowledge gaps and work with source teams to close them before go-live

• Validate that transferred knowledge is accurate, complete, and executable by the Cluj Hub team

4. Process Standardization & Documentation

• Develop standardized process templates aligned with the COE operating model

• Ensure all documentation meets quality standards and is accessible to the receiving team

• Maintain a central repository of process documentation, FAQs, and lessons learned

5. Operational Support & Stabilization

• Provide hands-on functional support during hypercare periods post-migration

• Act as the first point of escalation for process-related questions from the Cluj Hub team

• Monitor process execution quality, flag deviations, and support root cause analysis

• Track error rates, rework instances, and process adherence metrics during stabilization

• Support the Transition Manager in conducting readiness assessments and go-live checklists

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work directly with source teams to build relationships and facilitate smooth handovers

• Participate in alignment sessions and provide functional input on transition feasibility

• Communicate process-level updates and risks to the Transition Manager

• Support the onboarding and training of new Cluj Hub team members on migrated processes

7. Technology & Tools Support

• Support systems access setup and testing for the Cluj Hub team on FP&A platforms and tools

• Assist with data validation and reconciliation during process migration

• Leverage AI tools and Cluj HUB capabilities to accelerate documentation, training, and process education

• Identify automation opportunities within migrated processes and flag them for further development

QUALIFICATIONS
FP&A Domain Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Management

• 3+ years of experience in FP&A, financial reporting, or finance operations

• Experience working with finance ERP, Oracle, HFM, EPM, Hyperion Financial Planning, OneStream, Essbase, or TM1 systems is a plus

Process Improvement & Transformation

• Experience with process simplification, automation, or harmonization initiatives

• Familiarity with automation tools (RPA, Power Automate,PBI, VBA, SQL, Phyton) is a plus
