The City of Johnson City is seeking a Full-Time Transit Planner to undertake complex professional work within our Transit System. This pivotal role involves coordinating transit planning with broader community initiatives and engaging with Federal (FTA) and State (TDOT) agencies to ensure compliance with civil rights requirements. The Transit Planner will analyze current and future transit routes, conduct budgetary analyses, and prepare essential documents for grant applications and federal reporting. Supervision of technical and clerical staff will be involved, along with significant collaboration with various city departments and local interest groups. The position demands a proactive approach to maintaining ongoing compliance with federal mandates, preparing for audits, and enhancing the region’s transit strategies.
