JOIN OUR TEAM AS A TRANSIT ASSET AND DATA SPECIALIST - ITS TECH
Technical and administrative work organizing, maintaining, and tracking, data analytic and asset inventories for a full-service transit agency. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of new or existing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technology (communications equipment and devices) on GoPasco vehicles. Ensures GoPasco capital assets are kept in a state of good repair to prevent system failures. Collect accurately and report GoPasco fixed route and demand response data to Federal, State, and local agencies and funding sources.
Technical support work installing, repairing, maintaining, programming, and modifying devices and equipment associated with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
Responsibilities include regular technical support, maintenance and upgrades on equipment and highly technical, proprietary software, such as On-Board Video Surveillance, Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL), Voice Annunciators (AVA), Automatic Passenger Counters (APCs), Radio Communication System, Mobile Routers, Bus Destination Signs, Tablets, Electronic Fareboxes and Dispatch and Scheduling software, etc.
Responsible for clerical, technical and administrative work of collecting, tracking, organizing, and reporting transit system performance to Federal, State, and local regulators and funding sources. Gathers information and statistics to prepare reports as required. Establishes and maintains files, logs, and related technical information.
Collaborates with Fleet Management, Facilities Management, Information technology and other county stakeholders on asset, facility and infrastructure performance and reliability. Ensures assets are maintained to OEM specifications. Builds vendor relationships and ensures contractual compliance.
Responsible for implementation of new technology as well as troubleshooting and maintenance of existing technology and transit software applications.
Provides vital support to staff as it relates to coordinating, setting up, configuring, and maintaining databases, PCs, and hardware, while communicating the same with the County IT and vendors.
Responsibilities include initial assessment, triage, research, exchange, root cause, and resolution of basic incidents and requests regarding the use of approved software products, hardware, and computer equipment. Problems beyond the scope of their ability or responsibility are resolved by engaging, in a timely manner, other service resources and vendors as needed.
Analyzes and resolves incidents and requests regarding use of application software or hardware, maintain logs, audits data to validate accuracy or correct as necessary and tracks incidents for reporting purposes.
Conducts annual equipment inventory as required by funding source and assist with the Transit Asset Management (TAM) Plan.
Provides after hours and on-call support as required.
Travels to GoPasco sites during the day to assist users with ITS issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to drive a motor vehicle. Ability to lift and move 20lbs. or work with another team member to lift and/or move heavy objects. Ability to frequently climb, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and stretch. Ability to perform moderate to advanced personal computer tasks. Ability to perceive color, depth, and texture. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree or higher in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Engineering, Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology or related field OR a High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years' of experience in transit, transportation, logistics, diesel mechanics or a related field may be considered.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. State of Florida Class "A" or "B" Contractor's License preferred.

Pasco County was created in 1887 from the southern part of Hernando County. It was named for Samuel Pasco, who served in the Confederate Army, the state legislature and in the United States Senate from 1887 to 1899. The earliest towns were Anclote, Blanton, Dade City, Earnestville, Fort Dade, Macon (Trilby), Lacoochee and San Antonio. Citrus was an important industry when the county was formed, although a decline followed a freeze in 1895. Several large sawmills operated in the county in the early part of the twentieth century. During the Florida land boom of the 1920s, New Port Richey became the winter home of silent screen star Thomas Meighan and golfer Gene Sarazen; Meighan attempted to bring other Hollywood figures to the city. The county has experienced significant population growth since the 1960s. The growth began along the Gulf coast but is now occurring most rapidly in areas north of Tampa.
Located on the Gulf of Mexico in the Tampa Bay area, Pasco is part of a nine-county region referred to as the "Nature Coast." Pasco County has a total of 742 square miles with more than 100 square miles of managed recreational facilities, including parks, four artificial reefs (one made up of surplus military tanks), more than 25 golf courses, and three State-designated canoe trails. The possibilities to enjoy the outdoors and nature are unlimited.
