The Opportunity
In this role, you will oversee a critical part of the power services value chain by managing shop floor operations dedicated to transformer repair. Based at our Stoney Creek Service Center, you will coordinate daily production activities, support technical repair execution, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. You will work closely with engineering, planning, purchasing, and project management teams to deliver reliable outcomes that support the performance and longevity of essential grid infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to guide skilled trades teams, enhance operational processes, and contribute to the safe restoration and maintenance of equipment that powers communities.
Schedule: Evening shift, Monday to Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM
How You’ll Make an Impact
Supervise execution of repair work across shop employees in a two-shift manufacturing environment
Coordinate production activities in partnership with engineering, planning, purchasing, and project management teams
Optimize resource utilization to improve productivity and meet delivery targets
Review processes and recommend cost improvement initiatives
Hire, train, manage, and support hourly shop personnel
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve daily operational challenges
Support and promote safety and quality programs across the shop floor
Contribute to job planning and work schedule development
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
Your Background
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical diploma as a technologist, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in transformer production/repair or similar manufacturing environment
Experience supervising employees in a unionized factory setting
Proven interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Solid planning, organizational, and administrative skills with strong follow-up
Experience working collaboratively while guiding teams

In compliance with Ontario’s Pay Transparency requirements, the expected compensation for this role is:
Salary Range: $85,000– $110,000
