Support the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax to transform a team of approximately 20 FTE across one functional unit, with team members located in five countries (UK, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium) dedicated to Tax activities. Oversee all tax-related activities linked to clients and banking transactions within the Group. Ensure coverage of operational tax matters, regulatory tax support, and tax watch across jurisdictions.

Key Accountabilities

  • In coordination with the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax, plan, organize, monitor, and control the transformation of all operational and support activities related to Client and Bank tax across the group
  • Support the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax in monitoring and following tax regulations impacting the Group’s activities across jurisdictions, through internal analysis or with the support of external tax advisors. Support the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax in ensuring consistent and compliant implementation of tax requirements, aligning practices with evolving legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Together with the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax, lead transformation initiatives, including process streamlining, harmonization across all locations, and cost-saving measures. Align, integrate, and lead teams from all group locations into a unified team and target operating model (TOM).
  • Support the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax in in actively managing relationships with key vendors, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) providers, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure an efficient transformation of the Tax department.
  • Together with the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax, prepare and continuously implement the Client and Bank tax department strategy to align with internal and external client needs.
  • Support the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax in managing performance and risk reviews, including FTE targets, operational KPIs, KRIs, financials, SLAs, and client satisfaction.
  • Ownership of processes & respective controls within the Group functions. Continuous improvement, alignment and harmonization across all group locations (where applicable).
  • Support the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax in managing, leading, training, developing, and motivating the entire team to maintain high standards of professionalism and technical competence. Identify and nurture talent.
  • Together with the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax, conduct resource assessments, allocations, and skills development to ensure strong technical and operational expertise to meet client requirements.
  • Represent the Head of Group Client and Bank Tax upon request and when deemed necessary
  • Support / replace the Tax Senior Service Leader as deemed necessary

Knowledge and Experience

  • Further professional Education (Masters / Professional qualification)
