Department Description

The D2C Transformation & Growth team works at the centre of UMG’s global direct-to-consumer growth agenda, helping shape how artists connect with fans through commerce, data,technologyand fan engagement.

The team partners with markets,labelsand specialist teams to support the development and delivery of D2C initiatives,identifyingopportunities to improvehow teams collaborate, how insights are used and how global programmes are delivered at pace.

The Role

TheD2C Transformation& Growth Executivesupports a small global team working across UMG’s direct-to-consumer priorities. This role helps the teamoperateeffectively day to day while contributing directly to live projects through research, analysis,coordinationand practical tools that improve how work gets done.

This is a hands-on role for someone early in their career who is curious about music, technology, fanengagementand digital commerce. Success in the role means keeping priorities organised, supportingstrong communicationacross teams and taking ownership of defined tasks that help D2C initiatives move forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supportsthe day-to-day running of the D2C Transformation & Growth team, attending meetings, actioningfollow-upstostay organised and on track.

  • Coordinatesinputs across teams, marketsand stakeholders to support clear communication andtimelydelivery of work.

  • Contributesto active D2C projects through research, analysis, preparation of materials and coordination of key actions.

  • Ownsdefined tasks or small workstreams, following through from initialbrief to completion and escalating where support is needed.

  • Builds andmaintainspractical tools, trackers, workflowsor simple automations that help the team work more efficiently.

  • Usesdata and AI tools to support analysis, reduce repetitive work and improve the quality and speed of team outputs.

  • Investigatesdevelopments acrossD2Cproducts and experiences, fan engagement, fan data and digital commerce, sharing relevant trends,ideasand examples in a clear and useful way.

  • Works collaborativelywith colleagues across UMG to help the team stay connected, informedand focused on the work that will have the greatest impact.

Skills and Experience Required

Must have

  • Strong evidenceof curiosity, initiative andseeing ideas through to impact,gained through education, early career experience, internships,projectsor equivalent experience.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage detail, track actions and keep multiple priorities moving.

  • Strong interpersonal judgement, with the ability to listen well, build trust and work effectively with a range of people and teams.

  • A genuine passion for music and interest in how artists connect with fans through digital platforms, commerce,contentand data.

  • Confidence using data and technology to solve problems, including analysing data inspreadsheetsand using AI productivity tools

  • Aproactiveapproach to problem solving, with the ability totake ownership of tasks, ask questions and learn quickly in a fast-moving environment

Nice to have

  • Experience through internships, work placements, projects or early roles in music, media, technology,e-commerceor a related area.

  • Familiarity with e-commerce, data or workflow tools such as Shopify, LookerStudioor similar platforms.

  • Experiencewriting basic code orautomatingtasks usingAI toolsto improve workflows, organise information or accelerate analysis.

  • An interest in how digital products, data and commerce systems work together to support fan engagement.

This role sits within a small, high-expectation team working on one of UMG’s important growth areas. It offers the opportunity to build experience across D2C strategy, project delivery, team operations, data,automationand fan engagement.

The role will involve a mix of structured coordination, practicalexecutionand live project work. The successful candidate will be supported to learn quickly, buildconfidenceand take on increasing responsibility as they develop.
