Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for the full-time position of Director of Admission and Retention.
Position Summary
The Transfer, CCP & International Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, admission, and enrollment support of transfer, College Credit Plus (CCP), and international students at Lake Erie College. Serving as the primary point of contact for these populations, the coordinator provides personalized guidance from initial inquiry through enrollment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as the primary admissions contact for prospective transfer, CCP, and international students from initial inquiry through enrollment.
- Develops and implements recruitment strategies designed to increase applications, admission, deposits, and enrollment among assigned student populations.
- Advises students and families regarding admission requirements, academic programs, scholarships, financial aid, and enrollment procedures.
- Manages inquiries and applications, ensuring that all required materials are received, reviewed, and processed accurately and efficiently.
- Represents Lake Erie College at transfer fairs, high school visits, college fairs, community college events, and other recruitment programs.
- Participates in admission events, open houses, orientation, and other College recruitment activities.
- Supports general undergraduate recruitment efforts during peak periods as needed.
- Builds and maintains relationships with community colleges, high schools, school counselors, and other external organizations.
- Identifies opportunities for articulation agreements, transfer partnerships, and CCP collaborations.
- Completes timely transfer credit evaluations and communicate credit information to prospective students.
- Coordinates with appropriate College officials regarding international students documentation, admission standards, and enrollment requirements.
- Collaborates with Marketing and Enrollment staff to develop communication plans, recruitment materials, presentations, and outreach campaigns for transfer, CCP, and international audiences.
- Assists CCP students with course selection and registration while ensuring their schedules align with program requirements, academic goals, and applicable CCP guidelines.
- Tracks CCP student progress and academic standards, including reviewing grades, academic standing, course completion, and continued eligibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Admission and Retention in support of the College’s enrollment.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with students, families, school counselors,
- community college representatives, and campus colleagues.
- Strong customer service orientation and commitment to providing student-centered enrollment experience.
- Ability to manage multiple student populations, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative enrollment team.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for recruitment events and programs.
- Ability to travel regionally for recruitment activities is needed.
- Experience in college admissions, enrollment management, student services, or another area of higher education.
- Experience working with transfer, dual enrollment/College Credit Plus, or international students.
- Familiarity with transfer credit evaluation processes, articulation agreements, or community college partnerships.
- Knowledge of international admission requirements and documentation.
- Experience using a higher education CRM, such as Slate.
- Creative, strategic, thoughtful, and have a sense of humor.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, as well as across academic and administrative departments.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality and professional conduct.
