Job Description
Responsible for the recruitment, counseling, document evaluation of prospective transfer students. Requires professionalism, skills in presenting information, attention to detail, the ability to collaborate, and flexibility. This position ensures good relationships with the public and institutions and organizations involved in outreach/recruitment, as well as serves as a resource to the external community, such as high school and community college counselors, representatives from other universities. This position will evaluate transcripts and transfer coursework from domestic institutions and international educational systems to determine whether applicants meet the requirements for admission. The position serves as a resource to the staff in Admissions for issues and problems related to transfer admission.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):
- Develops communication strategies that will effectively promote CalArts for transfer recruitment.
- Researches and provides accurate information about CalArts programs and admission procedures for prospective transfer students.
- Assists the Executive Director of Admissions in setting enrollment goals for transfer students, through research on past data and projections.
- Recommends and implements strategies to meet enrollment goals for transfer students.
- Engage with current CRM (Slate, Colleague), and other technology recruitment strategies; actively recommend ideas and process improvements.
- Plans, develops, and attends outreach and recruitment efforts (community college visits, college fairs, businesses, and other venues) on-campus, off-campus, and virtually
- Evaluates college transcripts to determine whether a student meets admission guidelines.
- Reads, interprets, and evaluates students’ academic credentials for admission review.
- Coordinates enrollment open houses and transfer student events throughout the year.
- Collaborate on the establishment and management of articulation agreements.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to interact effectively with a diverse community of internal and external constituencies demonstrating tact, diplomacy, discretion and good judgment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and see projects through to a timely completion.
- Skilled in identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing relevant information.
- Ability to work responsibly, independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High energy level. Must be able to work long hours and nights and weekends as required to meet the admissions goals of the institute during peak periods.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 1 to 3 years of relevant and progressive experience desired; higher education preferred.
- Experience with Technolutions Slate or other CRM preferred.
- Experience in MS Office and Google suites preferred.
