Reporting to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Transfer Admissions Counselor assists in all aspects of the recruitment cycle for incoming transfer, online, and non-traditional populations. The Transfer Admissions Counselor manages daily responsibilities including application review, customer service, and recruitment at various events in support of the University’s aggressive enrollment goals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and process applications, make determinations of eligibility and recommend admission and/or approval of the applicant to the university for a particular program.
Recruit prospective transfer students through on-campus and off-campus events, including college fairs, information sessions, webinars, application days, and community college visits.
Represent the University at recruitment events and presentations, providing accurate information regarding admissions requirements, academic programs, transfer credit policies, and financial aid opportunities.
Develop and maintain relationships with community college faculty, advisors, transfer coordinators, and other key stakeholders to support transfer enrollment goals.
Participate in Open House programs, Accepted Student Days, Transfer Open Houses, and other enrollment events designed to attract and yield transfer students.
Conduct in-person, virtual, and telephone appointments to assist students throughout the admissions and enrollment cycle.
Monitor application pipelines and proactively communicate with students regarding missing documents and enrollment requirements.
Support transfer initiatives involving special populations, including EOF students, veterans, adult learners, online learners, and partnership programs.
Collaborate with campus partners to enhance the transfer student experience including Montclair Unbound, Office of Global Engagement and academic colleges and schools to support institutional enrollment goals.
Utilize CRM and enrollment management systems to track recruitment activities, analyze enrollment trends, and support strategic outreach efforts.
Identify opportunities to improve admissions processes, communications, and student services through data-informed recommendations.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to admissions, transfer student success, and enrollment management best practices.
Facilitate initial communication between accepted students and academic advisement to assure a positive transition that leads to matriculation
Possess the ability to understand, analyze, interpret and apply established law, college policies and procedures, regulation, precedents, and guidelines.
Represent the University by participating in or speaking at conferences, meetings, seminars, etc.
Assist with special projects and initiatives that support the mission and enrollment objectives of the University.
Serves on ad hoc and standing university committees.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of two years of experience in admissions or enrollment management settings.
Ability to present to large and small groups.
Fluency in the full Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to occasionally work outside of normal office hours, work evenings and/or weekends in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
Unrestricted access to a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
Preferred:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Prior work experience in transfer admissions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Fluency in Spanish.
Experience working with a CRM, particularly Slate.
Experience working with Workday Student.
Salary Range
$63,833.23-$70,221.74 Annual
