Job Description

The Team

Our Real Estate & Infrastructure Finance team advises lenders, borrowers, investors and developers on a broad range of UK and cross-border financing transactions. The team acts on complex real estate investment and development financings, structured finance transactions and infrastructure projects across sectors including digital infrastructure, renewable energy and transportation. Transaction values are frequently in the hundreds of millions and regularly in excess of GBP / EUR / USD 1 billion.

The team often controls the drafting of the finance documents, as part advising lenders and major investors. Many of the documents are based on forms published by the Loan Market Association (LMA) and similar industry bodies.

As a Transactional Executive, you will support the team primarily on word processing, including establishing robust template documents, and helping to deliver rapid and accurate sets of transaction documents of the highest quality.

The Role

You'll play a vital role in supporting our lawyers and business services teams through the preparation and delivery of transaction documentation. The role requires a high degree of proficiency in MS Word, excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

In addition to having a leading role in establishing robust template documents and providing word processing support on live transactions, this role will be responsible for supporting other team members with queries regarding document templates and styles, as well as document set-up, formatting and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Create, format and maintain high-quality transaction documents, including finance documents based on LMA and other market-standard forms.
  • Establish and maintain robust template documents, styles and precedent materials for use across the Real Estate & Infrastructure Finance team.
  • Assist with document set-up, numbering, formatting, cross-references, tables, schedules, signatures and presentation to ensure documents are accurate, consistent, client-ready and can be delivered efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of template updates, document versions and agreed formatting or drafting standards.
  • Provide practical support and guidance to team members on document templates, styles, formatting conventions and best practice in MS Word.
  • Identify opportunities to improve document production processes, consistency and efficiency across the team.
  • Prepare, amend and finalise suites of transaction documents accurately and efficiently, often to demanding deadlines.
  • Work closely with lawyers and business services colleagues to deliver complete and well-organised suites of transaction documentation.
  • Respond promptly to document production requests, prioritising competing tasks and communicating progress clearly.
  • Support live financing transactions by managing document mark-ups, comparison documents, version control and agreed drafting changes.
  • Deliver a professional, responsive and high-quality service to internal stakeholders in support of complex real estate, infrastructure and structured finance transactions.

Essential Skills & Experience

We are looking for a highly organised, detail-focused and service-oriented professional with:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including styles, numbering, tables, cross-references, tracked changes, document comparison and complex formatting.
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, as well as supporting applications including iManage and document comparison software.
  • Previous experience in a document production, legal support, transaction support or professional services support role.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a strong commitment to accuracy, consistency and high-quality presentation.
  • Ability to work confidently with complex documents, large transaction document sets, multiple versions and fast-moving amendments.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload under time pressure.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with lawyers, business services teams and other stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous improvement and developing practical document production solutions.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a law firm, legal document production team or finance / transactional practice group, ideally within a team responsible for drafting, controlling and delivering big-ticket finance documentation.
  • Familiarity with LMA or other market-standard finance documentation, templates or drafting conventions.
  • Experience working with finance, real estate, infrastructure, structured finance or other transaction documentation.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, law firm structures and the expectations of lawyers and clients on complex transactions.
