Position: Senior Transaction Manager – CEE
Location: Budapest, Hungary (Preferred) or CEE Regional Hub (Warsaw, Prague, Bucharest, etc.)
Reporting To: Head of Transactions
We are seeking an experienced Senior Transaction Manager to join our international transaction execution team. This role is ideal for a seasoned real estate professional who possesses the commercial acumen, legal awareness, and operational rigor required to lead commercial real estate deals independently from initial structuring through to closing.
While the role will collaborate closely with our core transaction team at headquarters in Budapest, the scope is truly regional—covering acquisitions and dispositions across our target markets in Central and Eastern Europe. Candidates based outside of Hungary must be open to spending significant hands-on time at our Budapest HQ during their onboarding phase to execute their first 1–2 transactions alongside the core team.
Key Responsibilities
-
End-to-End Deal Execution: Take full responsibility for leading and executing complex real estate transactions (acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures) independently across target CEE markets.
-
Due Diligence Coordination: Manage external advisors (legal, tax, technical, financial) and internal stakeholders to drive efficient, thorough due diligence processes.
-
Negotiation & Drafting: Lead or support the negotiation of key transaction documentation, including Share Purchase Agreements (SPAs), Asset Purchase Agreements (APAs), joint venture structures, and financing agreements.
-
Cross-Border Leadership: Work seamlessly with local in-country teams, operational experts, and regional leadership to ensure deals align with broader business strategies.
-
Transaction Structuring: Partner with tax and finance professionals to optimize legal and tax structures for cross-border investments.
-
Closing & Integration: Oversee pre-closing conditions, financial settlement, and transition handover to post-acquisition asset management teams.
Candidate Profile & Experience
-
Proven In-House Track Record: Substantial experience working directly within the transaction execution or acquisition team of a real estate investment management firm, private equity fund, or institutional investor
-
Senior-Level Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to run transactions end-to-end without needing day-to-day oversight; this is a senior execution role, not a support function.
-
CEE Market Knowledge: Prior exposure to commercial real estate deals across Central & Eastern Europe.
-
Commercial & Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of real estate valuation, deal structuring, financial modeling, and legal risk management.
-
Fluency in English: High-level professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required; additional CEE languages are an advantage.
Working Model & Mobility
-
Location: Budapest is strongly preferred. Candidates located in other CEE markets where our group maintains an office footprint will also be considered.
-
HQ Onboarding Period: If based outside of Budapest, the successful candidate will spend substantial time at our Budapest headquarters during the initial months to execute their first 1–2 transactions alongside the core team before transitioning into a regular hybrid travel rhythm.
