Job Description

Overall Summary

You will operate within Credit Products Delivery as a middle-office transaction management partner to Coverage, internal and external Legal counsel, and core control stakeholders to deliver well-controlled, timely execution across local and cross-border credit transactions. You will lead a newly formed team with a global remit and take accountability for end-to-end transaction execution and documentation negotiation management across credit products, including Traditional Trade Finance plus bilateral and syndicated loans.

Job Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Build-out

  • You will lead, grow, and inspire a newly formed, high-performing team with a global remit.
  • You will provide day-to-day people leadership through goal setting, coaching, performance management, and creating a diverse, inclusive, high-engagement culture.
  • You will build and manage the overall team resource plan, including recruiting where required and capacity planning in a changing environment.
  • You will develop and own team performance metrics to support established business and operational goals.
  • You will promote a culture of continuous improvement and support the professional development of team members.
  • You will oversee and train junior team members, providing coaching, training, and guidance to strengthen delivery quality and consistency.

Transaction Execution and Documentation Negotiation

  • You will deliver end-to-end transaction execution and documentation negotiation management for credit facilities and ancillary documentation.
  • You will review and support the front office in negotiating credit facilities and legal documentation across product categories, including bilateral and syndicated loan agreements, security documentation, conditions precedent documents, and ancillary documentation.
  • You will manage and maintain oversight of the deal closing process, including conditions precedent checks and post-closing support where applicable.
  • You will liaise with internal and external counsel to prepare and review transactional documentation.
  • You will suggest solutions and bring in appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner (including Bankers/Sales, Credit, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Operations, and others as needed).
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert for credit documentation, driving consistent execution standards and coaching junior colleagues.

Controls, Governance, and Stakeholder Partnership

  • You will manage the controls framework, reporting, and escalation processes, including coordinating documentation deviations and approvals during negotiations.
  • You will serve as the senior point of contact partnering with business partners and stakeholders across regions to align priorities and promote collaboration.
  • You will drive and support wider projects and initiatives, identify process optimization ideas, and ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements by identifying and resolving issues promptly.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills.

  • You have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in documentation negotiation management, transaction execution coordination, and team management.
  • You have knowledge of Traditional Trade documentation and a strong understanding of trade products and agreements; loan documentation understanding is an advantage.
  • You have proven leadership with direct people management experience, including building and scaling teams with a global remit and developing, mentoring, and advancing talent across multiple career stages.
  • You have a solid understanding of credit execution, transaction management, and banking processes, with strong decision-making and problem identification/resolution skills.
  • You have excellent coordination skills and a strong control mindset, plus strong relationship management (internal and external), organization, prioritization, and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • You can think strategically and tactically to generate process improvement ideas, lead change, and drive adoption of new processes and tools; you communicate effectively with senior deal team members and you are a confident self-starter adaptable to a changing business and technology environment.
