Job Description

La Costa Glen is currently hiring a part time Tram Driver, working with the Activities Department. The Tram Driver is responsible for driving the tram within the community, taking residents and employees to their requested location. He/she also supports the Activities Department with general administrative duties as needed.

Hours: Tue 11:00 AM -5:30 PM and Wed 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Wage: $17.40 per hour

Principle Duties:

• Picks up and delivers residents and employees throughout the community.
• Completes a safety check of the tram before transporting residents.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the tram, inside and out.
• Delivers mail and packages around the community, as time allows.
• Clerical support duties as needed, such as stuffing resident mailboxes and running errands.

Requirements:

• Current driver's license in good standing.
• Personable and outgoing, with a desire to serve the older generation.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Must be able to sit in a vehicle for up to 8 hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch and squat to load and unload cargo areas. Must be able to physically assist residents in boarding the tram. May be exposed to the elements (rain, cold, heat). Must have good driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. When lifting over 25 lbs, you are required to ask for assistance. Using delivery cart, walks to resident doors throughout the various buildings and villas to hand-deliver packages. Extensive walking required. Occasionally push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment generally weighing up to 50 lbs.
