The Role at a Glance
The Training Support Foreman I will be directly responsible for supervising, directing and assigning work to the Training Tech Staff and Student Workers. This position is responsible for maintenance, renovations and construction of training projects, buildings, and facilities/grounds support. This position is also responsible for controlling and maintaining accurate inventory, ordering of equipment, necessary materials and supplies. This position supports training deliveries at the Public Safety Training Center, Physical Skills Training Center, Primary Firearms Range, Secondary Firearms Range, Drive Track, Skills Pad, Demolition Range, UXO Pit, and other onsite/offsite locations. In addition, this position assists with third-party facility usage requests by conducting facility preparation, pre/post site inspections, periodic site monitoring, and acts as a safety liaison while ensuring third parties adhere to proper usage guidelines. The Training Support Foreman I performs and manages Preventative Maintenance (PM) Work Orders, basic repair of LAW grounds/training props as well as minor building maintenance and Maintenance Work Order (MWO) repair requests.
This position reports to the Training Director.
Qualifications of the Role
High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years of experience related to basic electrical, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, basic machinery and equipment operation, building trades, construction, welding, pipefitting, concrete, and/or heavy equipment operation experience.
Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Valid Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License.
Listed out-sourced training to include 30-hour OSHA training or ability to obtain within first 12 months of employment.
Equivalency: Will consider a Bachelor’s degree in related field with no prior experience OR an Associate’s degree in related field with two years of related experience listed above.
