About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Specialist to join our Travel & Experiences team.

In this role, you will design and deliver our consultant onboarding program, facilitate ongoing product, systems and sales capability training, and provide quality and compliance coaching to drive consistency and performance across the department.

The Training Specialist is responsible for lifting capability and consistency across all sales roles and channels within RACV Travel & Experiences - so that consultants across every location and the digital team sell to a common standard, with the skills, product knowledge and systems confidence they need. Specific teams this role is tasked with training are the Agency and Outbound teams.

 Your key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Build and run the program that brings new consultants up to a common standard:
  • Design and continually optimise the consultant onboarding program for new starters across all teams and channels.
  • Deliver onboarding as live training, ensuring new consultants are well-equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition into the department for new employees.
  • Deliver regular “masterclass” sessions and ongoing product, systems and sales-skills training across the teams.
  • Design and roll out training for new programs and systems.
  • Maintain training materials and keep them current as products, partners and systems change.
  • Engage key industry partners for product training to amplify industry knowledge across the teams.
  • Work with the Sales Team Leaders and Digital Sales to address skillset gaps identified in their teams.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, able to engage and upskill consultants across locations and channels.
  • Instructional design skills - able to build and continually optimise onboarding and ongoing training programs.
  • Coaching skills with the ability to evaluate and provide constructive feedback on performance and capability.
  • Broad product and systems knowledge across travel, tourism and leisure products and booking systems.
  • Ability to identify capability gaps and design targeted interventions to remedy them.
  • Ability to keep training materials accurate and current as products, partners and systems change.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills; able to manage multiple training streams.
  • Ability to travel between store / regional locations as required to deliver training.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certificate 3 (or higher) in Travel (preferred).
  • Retail travel agency experience of 2 years or more (preferred).
  • Training, coaching or facilitation experience (preferred).
  • Flight booking experience using a GDS, preferably Sabre.
  • Personal travel experience (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.
