Job Description

Training Specialist - Remote

Application Deadline: 31 October 2026

Department: Training

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Philippines

Reporting To: Assistant Training Manager

Compensation: ₱37,000 - ₱42,000 / month

Description

Backed by Y Combinator and Sequoia Capital, Magic has spent 10+ years connecting fast-growing businesses with top remote talent.

This is a full-time, in-house Magic role with full benefits. It's not freelance and not client-placed. You turn new hires into Executive Assistants (EAs) who can hold their own with US clients, and you decide when someone is actually ready, not just "probably ready." You'll run sessions daily, grade against a rubric instead of a hunch, and rework the program whenever it isn't producing. The Assistant Training Manager has your back, but the day-to-day judgment calls are yours.

Schedule: fixed from day one, weekdays, 9 PM – 6 AM PHT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run daily live virtual sessions for your batch that trainees rate as clear and genuinely useful, not just "completed," and keep every training doc current.
  • Grade every assessment against the rubric, not your gut, and defend the call when it's reviewed.
  • Pressure-test readiness with mock client intro calls and mock interviews, then fold checkpoint scores, mock performance, and session notes into one readiness call per trainee.
  • Coach trainees through the shift from "doing tasks" to "providing strategic support," and teach them to put Claude to work on real EA tasks, not just toy prompts.
  • Rework the program with the Assistant Training Manager, including content, structure, delivery, and role-play scenarios that mirror real client situations. Ship at least one improvement a quarter that measurably moves engagement or retention.
  • Flag performance risks and program gaps early. Go to the Training Supervisor first, and to the Assistant Training Manager for calls only they can make.

Qualifications & Technical Requirements

  • 1+ year of virtual training experience with a proven track record of success
  • 1+ recent year working as a VA/EA with US clients
  • Experience running mock interviews and giving structured, constructive feedback
  • A real grasp of different learning styles and how to teach to each, not just one script
  • Daily, hands-on use of Claude (or ChatGPT and similar tools) in a professional setting, and the skill to teach others to use AI well in their own work
  • Learning agility: you pick up new tools, processes, and feedback fast, and you adjust how you teach when something isn't working
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Discord, and Slack
  • Solid presentation skills in Google Slides, Canva, or similar
  • Fully comfortable with a fixed overnight (PHT) schedule
  • Excellent spoken and written English, clear enough to train and coach EAs who work with US clients
  • WFH setup: reliable home workspace with 40 Mbps internet

You grade by the rubric even when your gut disagrees. You can tell a trainee they're not ready yet, and say exactly why, without flinching. When a live session isn't landing, you adjust mid-stream instead of pushing through the slides. You treat AI as a daily work tool and love showing others how to use it well. When something new lands on your desk, you learn it fast and teach it better. You get a kick out of watching someone go from "learning the task" to "owning the outcome," and you stay calm when the clock and the stakes both go up.
