PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide Skills Development initiatives in order to satisfy business needs and to meet safety and legal requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential
• Human Resources Diploma/Degree or related field in HR, HRD (NQF 6/7) is essential
• Certificate: Education, Training and Development (EDT) is essential
• Registered Assessor & Moderator is essential
• Mining Blasting Certificate is essential
• 3-4 years relevant working experience in HRD (Mining) is essential

COMPETENCIES:

• Demonstrate knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act, regulations and definitions
• Demonstrate an understanding of legislation and compliance in the Mining and Minerals Sector
• Demonstrate understanding of the outcomes-based education and training approach within the context of a National Qualifications Framework
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of HRD legislation (Skills Development Act)
• Demonstrate an understanding of Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2000)
• MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• SAP HR

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Conducts an analysis to determine outcomes of learning for skills development and other purposes.
• Coordinates planned skills development interventions.
• Advises on the establishment and implementation of quality management systems for skills development practices.
• Provides information and advice regarding skills development and related issues.
• Promotes a learning culture.
• Advises on the management of skills development programmes.
