Reporting to the Director of Talent Management, the individual in this role will be both the strategic driver and tactical executor of training programs and will be responsible for collaboratively working with other members of the People & Culture (PC) team and Subject Matter Experts throughout the organization. This role is an integral part of our Employee and Leadership development, which is a driving force for both the employee experience and culture that Woodbine Entertainment is committed to creating. We expect this individual to specialize in implementing highly engaging and interactive learning experiences for every level of employee within the organization. The person who finds themselves leading successfully in this role is someone who demonstrates an outgoing and friendly demeanour, building relationships quickly with all levels of employees. They are collaborative and love working within a team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Live Our Values & Beliefs: Exhibit and demonstrate the culture and values of the corporation in execution of the daily responsibilities of the job.

Support the Strategy, Mission & Vision: Create and support the development and implementation of a company-wide training programs that motivate and align employees with the company mission, vision and values.

Content Development: Support the activities of the learning function by the development of high quality, engaging, and multi-faceted learning programs to meet current business demands and to enable us to respond effectively to organizational change. Content includes in-class training programs, online training programs - utilizing our Workday LMS. Also provide materials, including participant and instructor guides, job aids, and support tools to ensure employees and managers are set up for success.

Training Implementation: Ability to embed the training into the current work environment through effective change management techniques and approaches.

Vendor Management: When required, source, direct, and manage the vendors selected to create the content needed to address our business needs. Manage the associated budget to ensure smart and effective spending, ensuring the return of investment intended.

Training Facilitation: Share in the duty of content facilitation and deliver corporate training programs like Orientation, Manager 101 training programs and more, to employees and Managers on-site and virtually. Review the programs regularly to ensure they are up-to-date and fresh in their delivery.

Workday LMS: Support the development and management of the Workday Learning Management System (LMS). Create and upload content to support our employees learning path. Ensure the employee’s online experience is world-class, and that the results are meeting the business needs.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience working with Workday Learning module.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and developing integration solutions in Workday using Core Connectors, Workday Studio, Custom Reports, or RaaS solutions.
  • Solid understanding of communication strategies and processes.
  • Excellent understanding of employee engagement, organizational culture and change management concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience in content determination, creation, design and optimal layout.
  • Creative and innovative thinker to develop ideas for content and approaches for delivery of messages.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and training/learning methodologies
  • Knowledge in leadership behaviour
  • Experience consistently raising the bar and not settling with the status quo.
  • Experienced self-starter who has demonstrated their ability to take initiative.
  • University or college graduation in a field related to HR management, or the equivalent in education and/or experience.
  • 3 or more years’ experience in an HR learning capacity
  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Strong facilitating skills, encouraging participation & collaboration, with the ability to speak with passion in front of an audience.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to organize and communicate with project teams, solve complex project tasks, balance competing priorities, and provide timely direction and updates.
  • Creative and innovative thinking to develop ideas for content and approaches for delivery of messages.
  • The ability to work independently or in a team, set priorities, handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills combined with the ability to change messaging based on the applicable audience.
  • Learns quickly and able to grasp the ‘essence’ of a project/situation and can change the course quickly when and/or where indicated.
  • Creates a learning environment, is open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement.

Salary range: $85,000 to $90,000 per year
