Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented Training Facilitator to join our team! The Training Facilitator will facilitate and coordinate programs and activities that promote the personal, educational, and employment-related development of participants enrolled in the Goodwill Works Soft Skills Academy. Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Develops and facilitates workshops for participants enrolled in Goodwill Works Soft Skill Academy on focus areas including soft skills, job readiness skills, life skills, financial literacy, leadership development, entrepreneurship, and others.
  • Prepares daily lesson plans according to pre-established standards.
  • In collaboration with Career Coaches, may facilitate education and career-related exploration opportunities for participants such as college and employer tours.
  • Develops relationships with community partners who can be utilized as guest speakers for topics to include self-esteem, drug/alcohol prevention/abuse, social media, cultural diversity, financial empowerment, career pathways, post-secondary education exploration, etc.
  • Develops and maintains a database of resources and training materials and assists staff in connecting participants to these resources, while tracking involvement.
  • Maintains collaborative relationship with Program Services staff to ensure consistency of service in transitioning participants to employment following successful completion of the soft skills academy.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or years of experience in lieu of degree in Education, Facilitation, or Training.
  • Previous work experience with individuals with barriers to employment a plus.
  • Must have reliable transportation, proof of insurance, a valid driver’s license in the state of residence, and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance provider.
  • Travel across the state and to other locations beyond the assigned work location is occasionally required.
  • Willing to maintain First Aid/First Responder Certification.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) with ability to use Salesforce and computer software programs and/or other applications.

Physical Demands:

  • This job may have physical requirements that considered sedentary work. Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings and weekends to accommodate programming requirements and needs of participants.
