The Manager – Training & Development (Sales) will be responsible for enhancing the capability, productivity, and execution standards of the sales organization through structured training, field coaching, and continuous development initiatives. The role will focus on improving frontline sales effectiveness, trade execution, customer engagement, negotiation capability, and overall commercial performance across sales channels.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and execute the annual Sales Training & Capability Development strategy aligned with commercial and business priorities.
· Identify capability gaps within the sales organization through field visits, trade observations, performance analysis, and stakeholder feedback.
· Design and conduct training programs covering sales fundamentals, trade execution, negotiation skills, outlet management, route-to-market execution, product knowledge, customer engagement, and sales excellence.
· Conduct classroom-based and field coaching sessions for Sales Executives and frontline sales teams across all sales channels.
· Drive onboarding and induction programs for newly recruited sales employees to ensure faster integration and productivity.
· Work closely with Sales Managers and Regional / Zonal teams to improve field execution standards and sales productivity.
· Monitor training effectiveness through KPIs, field audits, trade evaluations, assessments, and performance improvements.
· Develop training calendars, learning materials, SOPs, presentations, and sales training modules.
· Support sales transformation and capability-building initiatives, including digital sales tools and Sales Force Automation (SFA) systems.
· Drive a continuous learning culture within the sales organization through structured coaching and development initiatives.
· Ensure proper training records, reports, and development tracking mechanisms are maintained.
Qualifications
· 3 -5 years of experience in Sales Training, Capability Development, or Commercial Training within FMCG / Beverage / Alcoholic Beverage sectors.
· Strong understanding of frontline sales operations, route-to-market execution, and trade dynamics.
· Proven experience in conducting classroom and field-based sales training programs.
· Strong field coaching, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
· Experience in developing sales capability frameworks and training materials.
· Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
· Ability to influence and engage frontline sales teams effectively.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills; English proficiency essential.
