The Quality Control Trainer will develop and deliver programming that ensures Quality Control personnel are qualified to perform their role in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). They will apply instructional design principles and facilitation skills to execute a training program that promotes high levels of learner engagement, immerses employees in Curia’s culture and values, and helps them perform aspects of their role right first time. Training will focus on building engagement, knowledge, and foundational skills.

This role requires seasoned facilitation skills and subject matter expertise for best practices in QC training and compliance. The role supports data integrity, regulatory readiness, and right-first-time performance by embedding strong technical skills and quality culture across the QC laboratory.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Essential job duties

  1. Develop and execute qualification programs for QC techniques and instrumentation
  2. Single point of accountability for the new QC employees and refreshers for the existing QC employees
  3. Analyze deviations, OOS/OOT results, and lab errors to identify training needs
  4. Ensure all training aligns with cGMP requirements and internal quality systems
  5. Design and deliver instructor-led and hands-on training for QC analysts (e.g., HPLC, GC, wet chemistry, dissolution); create and maintain training materials
  6. Develop structured multi-month onboarding programs for new hires and cross-training plans for existing staff
  7. Translate complex analytical methods and SOPs into clear, trainable content
  8. Facilitate both classroom and laboratory-based training sessions
  9. Reinforce principles of data integrity (ALCOA+) in all training activities
  10. Maintain training compliance in accordance with regulatory expectations (e.g., audit readiness)
  11. Assess analyst competency through observation, practical assessments, and knowledge checks
  12. Maintain training matrices and ensure timely qualification/requalification
  13. Implement training improvements to reduce repeat errors and improve right-first-time performance
  14. Partner with QC management, QA, and Manufacturing to align training with operational needs
  15. Ensure safety practices are being followed during any instructor-led training
  16. Perform other duties as assigned

Education, experience, certification and licensures Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field and 5-7 years of related work experience
  • Experience training or mentoring in a regulated environment

Preferred

  • Strong hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV, and wet chemistry

  6. Instructional design: Incorporates user experience design principles to structure instructor-led training
  7. Familiarity with regulatory expectations (e.g., FDA guidelines)
  8. Develop learning assessments (e.g, using Kirkpatrick’s Model of Evaluation)
  9. Experience with LMS platforms and training documentation systems

While performing the duties of this job, the employee has the potential of being exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals (wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment will be required in these situations). The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock (always being aware of one’s environment and taking proper precautions is required). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Employee will be responsible for generating hazardous waste for treatment, storage and disposal. Affected employee will need to be familiar with the applicable training requirements included in the Resources, Conservation and Recovery Act. Employee will understand waste labeling, secondary containment, chemical compatibility, storage time limits, container size and quantity limits, container integrity when waste is left unattended and improper disposal of hazardous materials.

Pay Range $101,000 - $126,300
