ABOUT US: - We believe that everyone deserves a home!
Breaking Ground operates nearly 4,000 units of housing across New York City, along with housing in upstate New York and Connecticut. Supportive housing - affordable housing paired with services designed to help people maintain their homes for the long-term - is widely recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to chronic homelessness.
But we didn't stop at providing housing. Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.
Reporting to the Director, Organizational Development, the Trainer, Learning and Development is responsible for the quality training of staff. The Trainer oversees training functions and processes. The Trainer has key organizational responsibilities: collaborating with the Director, Organizational Development to understand, prioritize, and address key training needs; facilitating training that prepares staff to meet governmental and organizational compliance standards. This includes an emphasis on CPR and Crisis Prevention Institute’s (CPI) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention de-escalation training. The Trainer is responsible for performing administrative duties for the Human Resources department.
This is a field position with time divided between onboarding and curriculum training. The Human Resources department works a hybrid schedule; however, the Trainer, Learning and Development role was created to directly support the field training needs and is a fully onsite position. The Trainer, Learning and Development will work onsite four days a week facilitating training, and one day a week from the Breaking Ground administrative offices or remote working, based on the needs of the organization.
