This is a remote opportunity. This dual-role position is responsible for supporting Behavioral Health coding quality and training. The BH Quality Analyst / Trainer evaluates program needs and current practices; creates and delivers training development plans, materials, tutorials, instructions, online modules, and guides; and performs quality audits to support coding accuracy and compliance. This role also provides timely coaching and feedback to improve team performance. The ideal candidate is a confident public speaker and dedicated educator with a strong background in Behavioral Health coding, training, and quality assurance, and remains current on the latest tools and resources needed to improve employee training and performance.
Salary Range $60,100 - $80,000
Location: 100% Remote (U.S.-based)
Up to 10% annual travel (for team meetings and limited client onsite engagements.)

Evaluate Behavioral Health training needs, current practices, and performance trends to identify opportunities for employee development and coding accuracy improvement.
Develop and deliver training plans, materials, tutorials, instructions, online modules, guides, and other learning resources to support Behavioral Health coding and audit standards.
Facilitate training sessions, refresher education, and coaching discussions to improve coder performance, audit consistency, and compliance with applicable guidelines.
Mentor BH outpatient coders and provide timely coaching and feedback based on audit results, quality trends, and individual learning needs.
5+ years of experience with Behavioral Health services, including mental health and substance use disorder treatment.
Preferred one or more of the following credentials: CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, Registered Nurse, MSW; preference given to those with multiple credentials.
Superior knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to Behavioral Health.
Prior Behavioral Health retrospective overpayment identification auditing experience preferred.
Prior experience developing and delivering Behavioral Health coding training, coaching plans, or learning resources preferred.
Experience facilitating classroom, virtual, and one-on-one training sessions for coders, auditors, or clinical review teams.
Ability to translate complex Behavioral Health coding, audit, and compliance concepts into clear training content that supports different learning levels.
Prior experience creating job aids, training guides, process documentation, assessments, and knowledge checks preferred.
Experience assessing trainee comprehension, identifying knowledge gaps, and recommending targeted coaching or refresher training.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to write professional notes quoting resources such as Official Coding Guidelines, ICD-10 Coding Handbook, Coding Clinic, and other recognized sources.
Confident public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to educate groups in a clear, engaging, and professional manner.
Ability to create effective training materials, job aids, tutorials, and learning resources that support coding accuracy, audit readiness, and employee performance.
Personal computer skills required, including experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

The posted range is the hiring range for this role — a subset of the broader range available to employees over time — and reflects base salary across our national hiring scale. Final offers are based on several factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, internal pay equity, work location, market conditions for the role, and the specific scope and responsibilities of the position. The top of the range is reserved for candidates who notably exceed the requirements; the lower end applies to those with less experience or fewer preferred qualifications. For positions based in higher-cost zones (e.g., California, New York, New Jersey), actual compensation may exceed the posted range; your recruiter will share specifics during the process.
