Ternary Consulting is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated individuals to join their team as Trainee Community Support Workers across the Greater Sydney region.

This opportunity is ideal for people who do not currently hold an industry-recognised qualification but would like to earn while they learn through a supported traineeship pathway.

About the Opportunity:

Successful applicants will undertake a 12 to 15-month paid traineeship, combining practical workplace experience with formal training to achieve a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021) - Aged Care.

Trainees will gain hands-on experience supporting aged care clients in their homes while being paid to attend training and study days throughout the program.

Multiple positions are available across the following Sydney regions:

  • Inner North (Mosman, North Sydney, Manly)
  • Ryde
  • Northern Beaches (Dee Why, Narrabeen, Belrose, Frenchs Forest)
  • Inner West (Marrickville, Ashfield, Balmain, Redfern)
  • St George (Hurstville, Rockdale, St George)

Successful candidates will be employed within their local area and should be willing to travel up to approximately 25 minutes to support clients in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Trainee Community Support Worker, duties may include:

  • Providing domestic assistance, including vacuuming, mopping, changing linen, and general household cleaning
  • Bed making and maintaining tidy living spaces
  • Assisting clients with shopping and errands
  • Providing transport to appointments and community activities
  • Supporting clients with personal care, including showering, dressing, and grooming
  • Delivering respite and social support services
  • Building positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues
  • Communicating effectively with clients and members of the care team

About the Ideal Candidate:

Ternary Consulting is looking for individuals who:

  • Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Are reliable and possess effective communication skills
  • Have a genuine desire to support and care for older Australians
  • Are willing to learn and develop new skills
  • Can obtain and pass a National Police Check
  • Hold a current NSW Driver Licence
  • Have access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Are Australian or New Zealand citizens, or permanent residents eligible for traineeship funding
  • Have regular availability of at least three consistent weekdays per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Live within 10 kilometres of one of the advertised locations
  • Hold, or are willing to obtain, a current First Aid and CPR Certificate
