About the role


We are looking for motivated and safety-focused individuals to join Orica as Trainee Operators across Papua New Guinea.

This is an exciting opportunity to start a long-term career with a global leader in mining and blasting technology. Whether your background is in a trade, technical, engineering, mechanical, manufacturing, transport, construction, agriculture, logistics, or a related industry, we encourage you to apply.

As a Trainee Operator, you'll receive structured training, mentoring, and hands-on experience to develop the technical skills required to support blasting operations, operate specialised equipment, and build a rewarding long-term career with Orica.

Target commencement date: Mid-September or October 2026.

What you will be doing

  • Live our core value: Safety is Our Priority, Always;
  • Complete structured training and development programs to become a qualified Operator;
  • Assist with the safe loading and delivery of explosive products;
  • Learn to operate MMU trucks and related equipment;
  • Support blasting and operational activities in accordance with company procedures;
  • Conduct equipment inspections and basic maintenance activities;
  • Work collaboratively with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service;
  • Maintain high standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism;
  • Participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities.
