Position: Trainee - Junior Receptionist

Department: Front Office

Location: RIU Atoll & RIU Palace, Maldives

🔎 About the Role

As a Trainee – Junior Receptionist, you will be part of our Front Office team and receive hands-on training in professional hotel reception and guest service operations.

You will learn how to welcome and assist guests, support check-in and check-out procedures, handle guest inquiries, and coordinate with different departments to ensure a smooth and memorable guest experience. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are friendly, confident, service-oriented, and interested in building a career in hospitality.

🌟 What You’ll Do

  • Welcome guests in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.

  • Assist with guest check-in and check-out procedures under the guidance of the Front Office team.

  • Provide guests with information about hotel facilities, services, activities, and general resort information.

  • Assist in handling guest inquiries, requests, telephone calls, and basic correspondence.

  • Support the reception team with guest records, room information, and other daily Front Office tasks.

  • Learn how to handle guest concerns professionally and refer complex matters to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Follow RIU service standards, grooming standards, and Front Office procedures at all times.

  • Participate in practical training and development activities to build professional reception and guest service skills.

  • No prior hotel experience required; hands-on training will be provided.

  • Friendly, confident, and guest-focused personality.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Good command of spoken and written English.

  • Basic computer knowledge and willingness to learn hotel systems.

  • Positive attitude, professional behavior, and willingness to learn.

  • High school diploma or equivalent secondary education preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts when required.
