The Trainee Housekeeping Supervisor is an entry-level supervisory role within the Housekeeping Department, designed to develop the knowledge, leadership skills, and operational experience required to supervise housekeeping operations effectively. The role supports the Housekeeping Management team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, guest satisfaction, and colleague performance in accordance with Crowne Plaza and IHG Hotels & Resorts standards.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

• Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor and management team in overseeing daily housekeeping operations.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
• Ensure guest rooms are cleaned and prepared according to established brand and hotel standards.
• Monitor room status and coordinate with Front Office regarding room readiness, priorities, and special requests.
• Assist with the allocation and distribution of daily assignments to Room Attendants and other housekeeping colleagues.
• Follow up on VIP rooms, special occasions, guest requests, and priority rooms.
• Ensure all housekeeping equipment, cleaning materials, linen, and guest supplies are properly maintained and available.
• Report maintenance issues and follow up with the relevant department when required.
• Support the supervision, coaching, and training of housekeeping colleagues.
• Assist in briefing the team at the beginning of shifts and communicating daily priorities.
• Monitor colleagues' attendance, grooming, punctuality, productivity, and adherence to hotel standards.
• Provide constructive feedback and support colleagues in improving their performance.
• Promote teamwork, respect, and a positive working environment within the department.
• Assist in training new colleagues and trainees on housekeeping procedures, safety practices, and service standards.
• Ensure compliance with hotel hygiene, health and safety, and environmental procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout guest and public areas.
• Ensure cleaning chemicals are handled, stored, and used safely and correctly.
• Report hazards, accidents, defects, and unsafe practices immediately to the appropriate management.
• Support the hotel’s sustainability and responsible housekeeping initiatives.
• Respond professionally and promptly to guest requests, concerns, and complaints related to housekeeping.
• Follow up on guest feedback to ensure issues are resolved to the guest's satisfaction.
• Maintain a courteous, professional, and service-oriented approach at all times.
• Support the team in delivering a consistently positive guest experience.

WHAT NEED FROM YOU:

• Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in Housekeeping, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is an advantage, but not essential.
• Good knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures and cleaning standards.
• Familiarity with hotel operations and room-status procedures is an advantage.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of hotel systems are preferred.
