Reporting to the Lead Officer, Energy Management, you will work closely with Energy Officers to learn all aspects of the job. As you develop in the role, you will take on more responsibility, helping to provide an Energy Management service and identify initiatives to improve energy effectiveness in relation to Fife Council’s non-domestic building stock.
The position is predominantly Monday to Friday and office based; however the post holder will be able to work from home via agreement by the Lead Officer.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude who displays an aptitude to become an Energy Officer.
You should be able to demonstrate that they can work well with others or on their own to deliver results. They should also have an interest in keeping up to date with changes in legislation, regulation and practice which impact on their roles.
Applicants must be educated to National 5 at level A or B in Mathematics, English and a Science or Technical subject together with 2 Highers at a minimum of level C, one of which must be Maths with the other coming from Physics or Engineering Science or a relevant technical course at SCQF Level 6, or equivalent qualifications to allow entry onto a suitable HNC course.
As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a “blended working” arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required. While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
