Trainee Commissioning Engineer – Water

This is an excellent opportunity to gain specialist skills, receive full training, and build a long-term career within the water industry.

Location: Head office Colwyn Bay – UK travel, working away from home required.

Salary: Will come with Additional on Target earnings, Company Van and Fuel card, Working away allowance and Meal allowance.

Employment type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 47.5 hours per week

About the role…

ExcelCS part of the Ipsum Group is a specialist water industry contractor delivering high-quality commissioning, testing, and compliance services across the UK. We work closely with major water authorities and framework partners, including Welsh Water, Severn Trent, United Utilities and most major contractors, supporting the delivery of safe, reliable, and fully compliant water infrastructure.

As a Trainee Commissioning Engineer you will…

  • Attend initial EUSR commissioning training at our North Wales facility
  • Commission and GPS plot pipework schemes throughout the UK.
  • Swabbing, pressure testing, chlorination, dechlorination, sampling, and GPS plotting
  • Record site data using company app-based systems

About you…

  • No prior commissioning experience required
  • Willingness to learn
  • Technically confident with smartphones/tablets and apps
  • Some site experience preferred
  • Full UK driving licence held
