Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Train RAMS Engineer in St-Bruno, Quebec we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative and detail-oriented team of professionals.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and reliability of Alstom’s products while contributing to innovative rail solutions. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across design, industrial, sourcing, and validation, coordinate RAMS activities, and ensure compliance with Alstom’s safety policies and procedures.

You’ll specifically take care of planning and piloting RAMS activities and deliverables, but also assessing and demonstrating the safety and reliability of our products throughout their lifecycle.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Planning and managing RAMS activities across projects/programs to meet quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments.
  • Ensuring compliance with Alstom’s RAMS processes and instructions.
  • Defining safety and reliability requirements to meet performance targets and minimize risks.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to implement and document safety and reliability measures.
  • Engaging with independent parties (e.g., ISA, NoBo, DeBo) to address open points and ensure safety authorizations.
  • Providing technical leadership and fostering a proactive approach to design solutions and RAMS performance improvements.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electro-mechanical, or Railway Engineering.
  • 2–3 years of experience with railway safety analysis and RAM prediction methods.
  • Knowledge of rolling stock integration and validation (training will be provided if needed).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including working with third parties like customers and independent assessors.
  • Proficiency in time management and reporting.
  • Operational proficiency in French and English for technical discussions and documentation.
  • A structured, organized, and hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous routines.
  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supportive colleagues.
  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility.
  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment.
  • Steer your career in whichever direction you choose, across functions and countries.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning programs.
  • Progress towards leadership roles in RAMS or other areas of expertise.
  • Enjoy a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
