In this role, you'll:


Work within the Rolling Stock projects Team under the Fleet Maintenance branch of Sydney Trains, contributing to the testing and rollout of the New Regional Fleet (NRF).



This role will see you leading commissioning activities on board test trains and working with multiple stakeholders across different organisations for the Regional Rail Project. You will ensure that each test is performed in a safe and efficient manner, confirming compliance with network rules and procedures. You will monitor train performance and verify that minimum operating standards are met so that the test trains are in a fit state to operate on the network.



This role will involve the development of testing briefs and plans in preparation for a range of tests on various train subsystems across Sydney and NSW.

About you


Experience in the rail industry and preferably within rail operations/ train crewing, fleet maintenance or testing and commissioning. You’re recognised as being able to successfully problem solve and manage conflicting priorities under time constraints.

You also have strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to conduct report writing, review engineering documentation and successfully engage with stakeholders.

This is a front-line Award RC5 role located on-site at Auburn and Flemington. It is a temporary opportunity to 30/03/2027. You will be required to work shifts on a 24/7 rotating roster and at times you may be required to travel regionally and interstate. The role will focus on testing in metropolitan Sydney but move to regional and interstate testing early to mid 2026.
